Bedford for Pickering & Co. in sprinkled brown calf extra, gilt top; five raised bands forming six panels, five decorated in gilt; red leather spine label lettered in gilt; inside dentelles; marbled pastedowns & endpapers. Light foxing to prelims and title page; page iii trimmed a half inch bottom edge. Short, clipped catalogue entry pasted down on first blank, with a note in pencil below: "Bot of Pickering & Chatto, Sept. 05." An attractive copy, beautifully printed. Text in Latin. .
