Ca. 187?. Very good condition. Portrait of the Claimant in the Victorian fraud case with Australian connections. Image of the rotund bearded man, sitting at a table. The individual was sometimes referred to as Thomas Castro or as Arthur Orton, but usually was called "the Claimant". He claimed to be the missing heir to the Tichborne baronetcy. On plain stiff board, not signed. Penciled below the image is "the claimant". 2 3/8 x 4"
