Oxford University Press, 1965. NF/NF. 1st Edition. 19.5 x 26.1 cm pictorial paper covered boards with titles and illustration to the front. Unpaginated 48pp with illustrations by Ardizzone throughout 24 in colour. The book has its original unclipped jacket with a price sticker of 90p /18s net overlying another and is now protected in a removable clear jacket (not shown). The author has signed and dated the book on the front free endpaper. The boards are bright clean and unfaded with light rubbing to the top and bottom edges. Internally there are a couple of light marks to the bottom margins of three pages but otherwise the book is clean and bright. The dust jacket is clean and bright with only minimal rubbing and loss to the top fore edge corner of the lower panel and a 3mm rub to the surface paper at the foot of the spine. All in all a lovely signed first edition copy of this beautifully illustrated children's book.
