London: Faber and Faber, 1999. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. With b/w plates. Navy paper, cream stamped lettering to spine. Light pushing to spine ends, a few marks to bottom board. Tanned edges. Else, clean and square. In the original dust jacket: light creasing to edges, light sunning to rear panel. A very good copy.

Synopsis

P.D. James is the author of 14 previous books, many of which have been adapted for television. She is the recipient of many honours, including the Cartier Diamond Dagger Award for Lifetime Achievement and 1999 Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America.
