Afixed to the inside front cover is a bookplate reading: To our associate John Holmes on the occasion of our twenty-fifth anniversary in the watch business Robert Ingersoll / Charles H. Ingersoll (hand signed in ink by both). The Ingersoll brothers created the $1 pocket watch that made watches available to the common man, worldwide. This book was published for the company by Doubleday, probably for distribution to Ingersoll dealers. Unique item.
