Hatfield Books and Memorabilia, a Five Star seller, presents TheTin Soldier by Temple Bailey,with illustrations by F. Vaux Wilson. New York: Grosset and Dunlap, 1919. Sixth Printing stated, 5 1/4" x 7 5/8", 456 pp. plus 6 pp. of ads for other books by G & D. ORIGINAL UNCLIPPED DUST JACKET (tan, with dark brown particulars, brown and blue drawing of of heroine and cat on front, listing of all of G & D books on reverse) = Very Good Plus, with minor chipping and aging under Broadart wrap. Pages = Very Good Plus: moderate tanning to all, no chipping or tearing, no marks. Cover (tan paper boards with dark brown particulars front & spine only) = Very Good: lower 20% darker than upper 80% via sunning, hinge very tight, bending of top and bottom spine as well as front corners, square, no tears of chips. Illustrator Francis Vaux Wilson was a painter and author in his own right. Noted appraiser James Beattie has valued this copy at $70.00.
