Hardback small quarto, no jacket, pictorial boards, very good plus condition, black & white text-photos, documents, maps, appendices, old price marks front free flyleaf. 201 pp. This story is about the cousin of the author (Victor Posse): Ronald Walter Posse, who was killed in a flying accident in the Northern Territory of Australia in WW2. He had been a Spitfire pilot and a member of 549 (Fighter) Squadron RAF from its formation until his untimely death on 16 November 1944 at Truscott, the secret wartime Kimberley airbase. He had flown 205 hours on Spitfires and 1240 hours on all types of planes. Also the story of Fighter Squadron 549.
