Basil of Caesarea, also called Saint Basil the Great (330-379). He was an influential theologian who supported the Nicene Creed and opposed the heresies of the early Christian church. He, along with his brother Gregory of Nyssa, and their friend Gregory of Nazianzus were known as the Cappadocian Fathers. The three of them believed that Christianity was an almost scientific and distinctive movement with the healing of the soul of man and his union with God at its center. A beautiful large set of the complete works of one of the most important and beloved of Christian fathers, with a nice monastic library provenance. Heavy and oversized for international shipping. Please inquire. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall .
