Binding: Contemporary full calf, edge of sides in gilt, spine expertly rebacked with matching tones and 6 compartments of raised bands, title in gilt on two, Notes: Pennant a Welsh naturalist and antiquary, belonged to a distinguished Welsh family, for many generations resident at Downing, Flintshire, where he was born. In 1778 he brought out A Tour in Wales. Most of this tour was through the northern Welsh Marches and along the north coast to Bangor. Later on this tour was followed by a Jouney to Snowdon (part 1 in 1781; part 2 in 1783), afterwards this formed the second part of the tour., Size: 4to, Illustration: Engraved title-page with a vignette of Caergwrle Castle by P.
