About This Item

New York: Random House, 2006. This Stated First Edition also includes a "number line" ending in a "1" to indicate First Printing. For a real slice of "Our-Town" Americana, this fascinating and often humorous work describes a town that flooded every year but refused to lie down and die. Finally, after decades of flooding, the federal government decided to step in and level the place, forcing the stubborn residents to move to higher ground. The book is in Fine condition with a Fine, price-unclipped dust jacket. The rear dust-jacket flap has a crease. I've placed the dust jacket into an archival, Brodart protective sleeve. The book is bound in black boards with a speckled beige spine and metallic green spine titles. The book measures 6 3/8 by 9 1/2 inches and includes 242 pages, with photos.. Stated First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
