The first edition of this work. A collection of short stories, each preceded and introduced by a poem, written by Rudyard Kipling, famous author known for his tales of The Jungle Book. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907, becoming the first English-language author to receive it, as well as the youngest.The first issue with twenty-two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear, dated 25.8.04 as called for. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, gentle fading to spine. CC Scott's stamp to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to fore edge affecting first and last few leaves, pages otherwise generally bright and clean. Very Good
