Book: Blemishes--shelf storage wear on the board edges, the pages are uniformly and moderately toned. The spine-board junction is stapled and some separation is seen in both volumes. Mended with binder's glue. Volume I has a blemish on the back board (photo).

Two-volume set (photo). The text is in German. Both volumes have numerous color and B&W illustrations. Several fold-out richly detailed maps. One map has a tear that was mended with tape (photo).

"Between 1905-1908, Sven Hedin became the first European explorer to reach the Kailash region, including the sacred Lake Manasarovar and Mount Kailash, the midpoint of the earth according to Buddhist and Hindu mythology."

This is a fine-crafted set that has stood the test of time due to its superior construction. The purchaser will receive the set by Media Mail in a protective cardboard box, generously covered in shipping paper and bubble wrap.
