Prague: Cercle Linguistique de Prague, 1936. 8vo, pp. [4], 294; papers in German, French and English; black cloth backed in black leather; original wrappers lacking, spine rubbed, a few dog eared leaves, very good. The Prague school was an influential linguistics and literature society. Its members established a number of linguistic subfields, such as morphophonology and modern phonology, making the Prague school the source of much of modern linguistics. Contributors to this volume include N. S. Trubetzkoy, Roman Jakobson, Sergey Karcevskij, Rene Wellek, Vilem Mathesius, and others.
