London: Printed for Rodwell and Martin , 1818. Book. Illus. by 20 plates, 1 folding, and one a route map in Egypt. Near Fine. 3/4 Leather. 1st Edition. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. New leather spine and corners with raised bands on the spine and bright gilt title and author. Original marbled boards, and also endpapers. Also marbled page edges. No prior owner marks, no foxing or stains to the pages, minor spotting to the plates. An exceptional copy of a RARE Middle -East travel journal. At the end, Greek inscriptions ffound in Nubia, with several pages of explanations. .
