About This Item

LaGrange, Georgia: Troup County Historical Society, 1993. First Edition. . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. F/F/1st ed; limited edition #161, signed by both authors. A wealth of history and heritage, with a touch of humor, is spotlighted in this look at the people and places of Troup County. From the frontier lands which once belonged to the Creek Indians to todays's modern interstates and high-tech industries, the counties first 167 years have been filled with change and glory and are well-documented. From the person who named each mule in a farm photograph to the relative who identified a serne-looking grandmother as "the most contrary of persons," the people who have called Troup County home come to life. Book Condition is Fine; clean and unmarked, with boards covered in maroon buckram. 263pp., First Limited Edition. Signed on a limitation label by both authors on the reverse of the front free endpaper, this is copy #161. Lots of photographs, some very early, along with drawn illustrations and maps. Exstensive index and bibliography. Information on churches, businesses, and industries. The endpapers are b&w photos of downtown LaGrange. A well reasearched and arranged county history.
