[London: 1812]. Prime Minister Spencer Perceval was shot dead in the lobby of the House of Commons on the evening of May 11, 1812 by a man with an obsessive personal grievance against the Government. John Bellingham, a merchant, believed he had been unjustly imprisoned in Russia and was entitled to compensation from the Government, but all of his petitions in said regard had been rejected.

In print at end: 'Authenticated by J. POYNDER'. 8vo. pp. 16. disbound (outer leaves soiled, some foxing, stains in upper margins).
