Bump and crease to lower corner of front cover, and light staining to rear cover, else fine. Albert Franck was one of the first people in Toronto to recognize that old houses are not just waiting developer fodder but that they make a specific cityscape. This view, part of the long Dutch tradition he brought with him when he came to the city in 1926, enabled him to appreciate that Toronto was not another Chicago or "Canadian Detroit," or a photocopied anything, but a place with an unmistakeable style of its own - a style which is most evident in the houses that line its streets.
