About This Item
New York: A.S. Barnes and Company, 1931. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Brown cloth with black lettering and device.143pp. Frontispiece, full-page plates, line drawings. Very good. Mild binding egdewear. A tight and nice later printing of this 1926 text, a volume in this publisher's "Athletics for Women Series." Interestingly, this copy bears pencilled ownership signature on front flyleaf of appropriately-named Vivian Springer, a well-known tumbling coach of that era. She pencils large checkmarks alongside many maneuvers, a couple comments on techniques in the margins, and lists a dozen tumbling terms (perhaps the order of events for a tumbling meet?) on rear pastedown. Intriguing copy of an uncommon title.
