London: J.M. Dent and Sons Ltd., 1945. Probably the best-known tale from the Irish children's author, first published in 1934. This is a Very good copy of a reprinted edition, part of the publisher's series "Literature of Yesterday and To-day." [Stated "First published in this edition 1942 last reprinted 1945"] Red cloth binding with titling on the spine and front cover in silver. Clean text; 246 pages. Eight illustrations by Jack B. Yeats. The last seven pages are "Questions and Excercises." Mild bumping; spine darkened but titling still bright; two spots on the front cover.. Reprint Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Jack B. Yeats. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
