This catalogue was produced to accompany the exhibition of work by J M W Turner entitled "Turner's Wessex - Architecture and Ambition" held at Salisbury Museum from 22 May to 27 September 2015. Turner was only 20 in 1795 when he first visited Salisbury, and had yet to make his name in the art world. This catalogue focuses on the important commissions that he gained from his contacts in the region, from patrons including Sir Richard Colt Hoare, which provided the foundations for his success..
