About This Item
World Publishing, 1946. First edition thus. Hardcover. Very Good in Good DJ. First printing thus, very good hardcover with illustrated covers and endpapers shows mild rubbing to cover edges and light bumping to corners, mild caving to spine and rubbing with some loss to gilt letter at spine (most particularly to author name), bit of age toning to pages and some other mild trace wear, else tight and clean, in good dust jacket that looks very good (price at flap) but does show long closed tears, closed cut to upper half portion of spine, soiling to rear panel, and edgewear including challow open chipping with shorter closed tears. 375 pages with intro by Mary Lamberton Becker and illustrations in black & white and full color plates by Kurt Wiese. Still a pleasing copy in jacket of this edition of the legendary science fiction novel.
