Chicago, IL: The Reilly & Britton Co, 1906. First Editions. Hardcover. Good Plus to Very Good. Maginal Wright Enright. FIRST PRINTING. Set: 12mo, 6.8 in. x 5 in. Illustrated with colored plates. Light tan cloth boards. Hand-lettered stylized text to top line of title pages reads: "The Twinkle Tales". Heavy, blank, red endpapers. Verso of half title pages have list of all six volumes of The Twinkle Tales. Color title with "hand-lettering" style print to top of title page. List of chapters and "Copyright ,1906, by the Reilly & Britton Co." on verso of title page. (Bienvenue 288).
Tan boards with illustrations and lettering stamped in color to fronts and spines. Light rubbing and soiling to all boards. The front boards and interior pages of all six titles are sharp and bright.
BANDIT JIM CROW: Bottom corners nudged. Previous owner's inscription, dated 1913, to half title. Hinge showing, but holding, at page 8. Scattered dark stains to rear board. Condition: Good Plus.
MR. WOODCHUCK: Corners nudged. Previous owner's name, dated 1906, to front free endpaper. Condition: Very Good.
PRAIRIE-DOG TOWN: A few scuffs to front picture. Front upper corner nudged. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper and half title.Condition: Very Good.
PRINCE MUDTURTLE: Previous owner's name to front pastedown. Front corners nudged, and corners just showing. A couple small chips to top/bottom of spine. Condition: Good Plus.
SUGAR-LOAF MOUNTAIN: Front bottom corner nudged. Hinges repaired, but text block uneven. Condition: Good Plus.
TWINKLE'S ENCHANTMENT: Previous owner's name, dated 1911, to front free endpaper. Three corners nudged. Hinge showing, but holding, at page 32. Condition: Good Plus. Complete set of first editions, first printings, published in 1906. Subsequent titles to the set were published in later years.
