Chapman & Hall, 1854. 1st Edition. Softcover. NF. One of an estimated 300 copies, containing the first printing of 'A Plea for the Ragged Schools of London' by Elizabeth and 'The Twins' by Robert. 8vo. 13.6 x 20.1 cm. Unpaginated, 20 pages including wrappers. Contained within a green leather portfiolio by Bayntun Riviere, with gilt stamped vignette and titles to the front and spine, gilt line borders front and back and decorative inner dentelles. The poem is in near fine with a couple of light marks to the front wrapper only. The binding is firm and there are no names, or inscriptions. The portfolio has a few very light marks commensurate with age and a little toning to the spine. One of the cloth flaps internally has a corner crease. All in all, a very good looking copy of this pamphlet written for Elizabeth Barrett Browning's sister Arabella who asked the Brownings to donate a poem each for her fundraising event for 'ragged' schools. The Brownings paid for the publication of these pamphlets themselves and at the time they were sold for sixpence each. This original work is perhaps best known today as providing the format for Wise and Forman's forgeries of other 19th Century pamphlets. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.

Trumansburg, NY: Out of Step Press. Fine with no dust jacket. 2016. Numbered Edition; First Printing. Pamphlet. The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two? I had a conversation with some of my Combat Paper brothers (well, the kids call them their combat paper uncles, so it follows
