About This Item

Silver prints (2); Each approximately 5 x 7 inches

A pair of photographs of indigenous subjects in Alaska, credited H.G. Kaiser. Kaiser photographed the indigenous communities of Nome following the 1899 discovery of gold which exploded the Euro-American population of the region. One photograph shows three indigenous men outside of a store or trading post, the other shows a man in traditional dress in a studio setting.
