George Routledge & Sons, London, 1886. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Introduction. Illustrated end pages, being further publications from the publishers and advertisement for a oak bookcase. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured illustration and titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Two speeches about conciliation with America; and, to letters about the "Irish Question" written and spoken by this 19th century Anglo-Irish statesman and philosopher. The book is showing a little age related wear:  softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with a hint of fraying also present; bumping, rubbing and fraying of the book corners. Patchy fading of the back strip and to the top edge of the front panel. The book shows rubs, marks and stains. Tanning to the text block edges and pages with ghosting of the free front end page to the half title page. Previous owners name across the title page. Remnants of a sticker can be seen to the top right hand corner of the free front end page; and, the hinges have cracked.
