New York: Two Worlds Publishing Company, 1927. Softcover. Fair. Magazine. Small quarto. Printed paper wrappers. Wrappers lightly soiled and detached with several tears along the spine, else good. A literary magazine by Roth that printed 14 pirated installments of James Joyce's *Ulysses*; of which the tenth installment is printed in this issue. The publication created an outcry across the globe, resulting in the "International Protest" signed by 167 writers and artists published in *Transitions* magazine in April 1927.

Description:
New York: Two Worlds Publishing Company, 1926. Wraps. Very Good. Contains the third installment of James Joyce's Ulysses. Lightly chipped at spine, but a nice copy overall. Binding is tight. Ulysses was serialized by Samuel Roth in his new magazine without Joyce's permission. It had been banned in the US on obscenity charges. Joyce initated legal action against Roth who said he had not given his permission for publication and that the text had been altered. An authorized American edition was not published until 1934. Slocum & Cahoon pages 28-29.
