Francestown: Typographeum, 1997. Limited private press edition. First edition. Hardcover. Fine copy. 8vo. Bound by Francis Brown in quarter brown morocco with brown buckram sides. Marbled end-papers. T.e.g. One of 10 lettered copies hand-set and printed letterpress and signed by the author. Preserved in a slip-case. No dust-jacket as issued. Includes an essay about what it may have been like to be a printer in the 15th Century, and two more about important printers from that period: Nicolaus Jenson and Aldus Manutius. There is also a chapter of autobiography, about the author's first years in Francestown. Finally there is a reminiscence of a much loved bookseller, David Low.
