About This Item
Moskau: Verlagsgenossenschaft Ausländischer Arbeiter in der UdSSR, 1932. First German Language Edition. Octavo (ca. 22cm.); publisher's white staplebound wrappers printed in red and blue; 32pp. Wrappers rather dust-soiled and a bit rubbed at extremities, textblock toned and a bit brittle due to inferior paper stock, else Very Good overall. Text entirely in German. The author, an old guard Bolshevik, served as People's Commissar of Enlightenment, stating during the Great Purge that enemies of the Soviet Union should be "squashed like vile vermin" only to be himself arrested and executed in 1937 (Yuri Slezkine, "House of Government" (2017), p. 814).
