Original wrappers printed in blue: housed in a custom cloth clamshell box with morocco spine label lettered in gilt. #509 of 875 copies on Alfa Verge, from a total edition of 1200, First Edition in French. The First French translation of Joyce's Ulysses, a complicated endeavor as indicated by the hierarchy delineated on the title-page. Translated from the English by Auguste Morel and Stuart Gilbert, with the help of others, including Joyce himself. Light foxing to wrappers, spine skillfully repaired: closed tear at the lower front wrapper, without loss; chip to edge of first blank, interior sound with some light foxing, an attractive copy, very scarce! Extra heavy book, additional postage will apply for international purchases. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
