Youenn Gwernig was a Breton poet, artist, singer, and TV presenter in France. His father encouraged him to speak with him in Breton at home, French was compulsory at school, and an encounter with Jack Kerouac enticed him to publish his poetry in English as well, resulting in much of his work being written and published in two or sometimes all three languages.
