Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for military library stamps on the front pastedown and textblock bottom. Book Condition: Good; toning to spine; soiling to white overlay on the spine; dust soiling to textblock top. No DJ but DJ flaps were taped to front endpages but now are laid in. Blue cloth boards with white cloth overlay on the spine; blue and red lettering on the spine. 203 pp 8vo. As Chief of Staff of the US Army, he has made the effort to develop the fighting forces into an effective instrument of national policy without complete reliance on massive retaliation (total war). This book presents a fascinating inside story, but, more than that, it presents a practical program for combining new and old weapons to correct the threatened imbalance of out military strength with that of the Communist bloc. A clean presentable copy.
