New York: Exposition Press Inc., 1960. Historic account of a southern plantation owner who was a reknown marksman, compassionate for his slaves, and devoted to the Union. He refused to fight for the Confederates, and so abused and jailed. Written by his grand-nephew, the author. Signed on first title pg. Newspaper clipping glued to endpaper, subsequent discolouration on opposing board from aging newsprint. Dustjacket has small chunk missing on lower spine, three sm. tears on upper edge. Some discolororation on lower outer edge, does not adversely effect the text. 112 pgs. Scarce.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Cloth. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
