Patriotic Victorian binding in gray cloth lettered and elaborately decorated in gilt, silver gilt and red, 398 pages. Illustrated throughout with color lithographs, blue and white plates, and engraved plates printed on a bright orange background. Some rubbing to the extremities, tiny quarter inch hole to the front edge of the spine, front hinge internally reglued and secure, text block sound, pages age-toned but clean, pencil note on preliminary blank, no other markings.. Hard Cover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Slight wear to corners, head and tail of spine. Ownership signature of W. E. Humphry. An notably well-preserved copy. Published the same year as the Philadelphia edition; priority unknown.
