About This Item
Paris: Galerie Brugier-Rigail, 2017. First edition. Hardcover. A fine copy in a near fine box, book issued sans dust jacket. Nickk Walker. #26 of 100 numbered copies (handwritten on box) with a 94 full-color page hardbound exhibition catalog that features the artist's originals and murals. Nick Walker is one of the world's best known street artists. Born in 1969, he emerged from the infamous and groundbreaking Bristol Graffiti scene of the early 1980s. As a forerunner of the British graffiti phenomenon, Nick's work has become a blueprint for hundreds of emerging artists, including Bansky. His work is constantly evolving and remains innovative, modern and thought-provoking. His work has also been embraced by the record, fashion and film industries. He was commissioned by Stanley Kubrick to recreate the heavily hit graffiti'd areas of New York for Eyes Wide Shut. More recently Nick's infamous and recognizable 'Vandal' character, the artist who disguises himself as a quintessential English gentleman in order to get away with artistic vandalism, was featured in the Black Eyed Peas 'I Gotta Feeling' video. Book measures 10.75 x 10.75 x 2 inches housed in the original white box with cover portrait of Walker (one corner split).
