Philadelphia, 1884. hardcover. very good(+). View. Oil painting on wood panel with signature and date. Image measures 4.25" x 6 3/8". Panel measures 6" x 10 1/8". Charming black and white painting on panel of a man courting a young women, while two older women look in with apparent disapproval. Painting is in very good condition with minor abrasions to left side. Paine (1858-1905) was an American artist born in Vermont. He studied art and worked many years in Philadelphia and later in Paris.
