Unknown: Unknown, 1910. A lovely woodcut. Undated but circa 1910. Three young ladies sitting on a boat by a lake side. One is playing the guitar, and the other two listening. Woodcut is 17cm x 20cm. Printed on fine chine papier. Paper is 48cm x 33cm. Signed by Bossert below the image. A little creasing to the paper, particularly at the edges, but overall and attractive piece. Otto Richard Bossert (1874–1919), also known as O. R. Bossert, was a German portrait painter, art teacher and graphic artist. Among his works are portrait etchings of historical figures and color woodcuts. His early works were influenced by Max Klinger. Bossert was born in Heidelberg and studied in Karlsruhe, before settling in Leipzig. In 1904 he began teaching at the Leipzig Academy for the Graphic Arts. In 1911 he spent a summer in Normandy and Brittany, where he was introduced to the art of Paul Cézanne. Bossert was a winner of 1914 Villa Romana prize. He died in 1919 in Leipzig. (Wikipedia). . La gravure sur bois mesure 17 cm x 20 cm. Imprimée sur du papier fin chiné. Le papier mesure 48 cm x 33 cm. Signé par Bossert sous l'image. Le papier est un peu froissé, en particulier sur les bords, mais il s'agit dans l'ensemble d'une belle œuvre. Otto Richard Bossert (1874-1919), également connu sous le nom de O. R. Bossert, était un portraitiste, professeur d'art et artiste graphique allemand. Parmi ses œuvres figurent des portraits à l'eau-forte de personnages historiques et des gravures sur bois en couleur. Ses premières œuvres ont été influencées par Max Klinger. Bossert est né à Heidelberg et a étudié à Karlsruhe, avant de s'installer à Leipzig. En 1904, il commence à enseigner à l'Académie des arts graphiques de Leipzig. En 1911, il passe un été en Normandie et en Bretagne, où il découvre l'art de Paul Cézanne.
