Octavo (21cm); gray cloth, with titling, rule, and pictorial elements stamped in black and red on spine and front panel; crimson topstain; dustjacket; [vi],293pp; illus. Decorative bookplate of John M. Cameron to front pastedown, with the original receipt of sale to him laid in. Subtle offsetting to pastedowns and rear endpaper from binders glue, else a fresh, Fine copy. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $2.50), with a hint of sunning to spine and some trivial dustiness; very Near Fine.

Sharp copy of Faulkner's tenth novel, set on the Sartoris plantation during the latter years of the Civil War; adapted from a series of stories that originally appeared in various magazines, here re-worked into a continuous narrative. PETERSEN A19.2.
