The author, born in Kyoto in 1888, and most of his career was in the mining and chemical business.He wrote seven other books, beginning with Over Cups of Coffee in 1931 and Tales on the Manchurian Bandit in 1932.. This book is over 370 pages, with maps and b&w photos, and has held up very well; the color and design on cover are still bright and bold, but there is a bend on the lower right front side, and shelfwear on the bottom edges. Small black ink spot on bottom of pages.
