Van Horn Texas - AIR MOBILITY COMMAND - 36TH EAGLE AIRLIFTERS
- Used
Original color art for air-force unit commemorative. 13 x 15 inches hand-painted on silk/paper.
Item represents either an assignment or mission performed by the owner somewhere in North Africa "Egypt" as displayed by the pyramids. We see quite a few similar items that really don't represent anything official as this item would appear to be. Probably to commemorate a mission. The organization, the 36th Airlift Squadron, at the time flew the C-141B Starlifter (aircraft shown on the flag/banner) and places the unit with the 62nd Airlift Wing at McChord AFB, Washington. They were assigned the C-141B at McChord between 1989 and 1993 to the Air Mobility Command (AMC). -Harry E. Heist II, Archivist/Historian Air Mobility Command Museum
