London: Bradbury Evans, 1848. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Illustrated by Thackeray. First issue with all points present. Very Good, housed in a custom slipcase. Blue cloth, soiled, rubbed at the joints, pushed at the corners and rubbed to the boards at the bottom-right corner on the front board, gilt lettering and designs on the spine and boards. Square and firmly bound, bookplate inside the front board, former owner's signature and tipped-in bookseller's catalogue description on the front endpaper, some foxing throughout. The first one-volume publication of Thackeray's classic satire of British life during the early 19th century.
