From the library of Professor Stearn with his bookplate to the front endpaper and pencil note on receiving the book from the author, initialed W. T. S.; signed and inscribed by the author to Stearn on the front free end paper; also included are three typed letters, signed from the author to Stearn, two loosely inserted and one pasted to rear end paper. Pp. 978; b/w illustrations; text in Dutch. No dust jacket. Binding with slight rubbing, otherwise very good. Contents good and tight. A very good signed copy with excellent provenance; a much enlarged edition. A large heavy book and a small postal surcharge may apply. [Provenance: from the library of Prof. William Stearn, with his bookplate to the front paste-down, "doyen of British botanists" who wrote c. 500 papers and books, including the classic "Botanical Latin". He was an authority on Linnaeus and an expert on botanical illustration.].
