drawn from nature and Engraved by George Brannon, many years resident in Newport. To which are prefixed, a concise topographical description and the general tours of the Island, embracing every information in the least degree useful to strangers. Southampton: Published by the engraver, Kingsland, Southampton; and sold by the booksellers of the Island, &c., 1826 Oblong 4to. 42,[1]pp. hand-coloured map, 25 engraved plates with tissue overlays. Contemporary or publisher's calf backed marbled boards with printed lettering piece on upper board, boards rather rubbed and worn at edges, red calf spine faded in places but good, occassional light spotting on some of the plates but mercifully very little; a very nice copy. The first edition was published in 1820 and numerous editions followed with differing plate counts, this 1826 edition is complete with 25 plates and the map. We have been selling antiquarian books on Africa, Oceania, archaeology, anthropology, travel and the ancient world for over forty years.
