The most important poetry anthology of the Silver age, covering its main literary movements - symbolism, acmeism, and futurism. Under one cover are gathered almost all famous poets of the time along with less-known authors – in total 48 contributors, among them Anna Akhmatova, Konstantin Balʹmont, Aleksandr Blok, Valery Bryusov, Ivan Bunin, David Burliuk, Andrey Belyi, Maximilian Voloshin, Zinaida Gippius, Nikolay Gumilev, Sergey Esenin, Ryurik Ivnev, Vasily Kamensky, Mikhail Kuzmin, Osip Mandelʹshtam, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Boris Pasternak, Fyodor Sologub, Igor Severyanin, Vladislav Khodasevich, Marina Tsvetaeva, Ilya Ehrenburg and others.

The almanac was conceived as a review of poetic forces, as an exhibition of all poetic achievements - by analogy with an artistic spring salon. Its editor, the poet Mikhail Tsetlin (literary pseudonym - Amari) was intended to publication the almanac on a regular basis. In the preface he formulates the aesthetic position of the book: "Spring Salon of Poets" is the first issue of the collection series, the purpose of which is to reflect the achievements in Russian poetry. The collections will include both new poems and those that have previously appeared in print. This first collection includes poems over a relatively long period: from 1914 (approximately from the beginning of the war) to the end of 1917." However, this first issue was destined to remain the only one of its kind. It was not possible to continue such a significant undertaking under wartime conditions. In essence, the snapshot has ended its ethical time, the time of the great heyday of Russian poetry, the so-called Silver Age. Actually, the publication marked the end of the time of the great prosperity of Russian poetry, so-called Silver Age.

Book amazing five-color lithographed futurist wrappers designed by Georgii Yakulov (1884-1928) - Russian avant-garde artist, stage designer, art theorist. He actively interacted with various artistic movements (cubism, futurism, imaginism, constructivism), while looking for his own style, combining the culture of the East and the culture of the West. Creative search has resulted the "theory of light and the origin of styles in art" known as the "Theory of Multi-Colored Suns".
