About This Item
London: Methuen & Co. Ltd., 1915. This is a Very Good copy of the First English Edition, which contains an Author Note from Conrad not in the American version. Red cloth binding, titled in gilt on the spine. Clean text; viii, 415 pages; with a four-page advert from "Spring, 1915." This followed by a 31-page catalog dated on the last page with the date "8/5/15," considered a First Issue point. However, there is no comma after "Street" on the Title Page, so Quercus is wary to call this the first issue. Spine has faded but the gilt is still bright and clear. Light soiling to covers. a corner of the catalog stands proud - appears to be a mistake in the printer trimming the page. Previous-owner signature on the FFEP. In an archival plastic protector.. First UK Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
