JW Hodges.. 2 Vols (of 4), bound as 1, VG, 1st ed, 1 Map, 19 plates (as called for), 2 vignettes. In contemporary half calf over worn marbled boards, some gilt tooling, corners and edges lightly bumped and worn. Spines, carefully relaid retaining the old, decorative gilt tooling and titles. Internally, marbled endpapers, text block edges reddened, hinges strengthened, Western Hindoostan, frontis present, [2], [1], (ii-v), [11], [1], 2-263 pp, [1], [9] index, [1], 1 map (folding), 8 plates, 1 vignette. Eastern Hindoostan, frontis present, [10], [1], 2-374 pp, [13] index, 13 plates, 1 vignette. Occasional light foxing and offsetting, map lightly spotted, small repaired margin tear. These two volumes were his last publications on the subject of natural history. A very nice clean and tight copy. (ESTC T145966 vol 1&2. Lowndes 1824. Allibone 1554. Cox I, 307) "He projected about 1793 a work in fourteen volumes, to be called 'Outlines of the globe'; he published two volumes dealing with India and Ceylon, and vols. III and IV (China and Japan) were issued posthumously." (DNB).

DELIVERY DETAILS We ship all of our orders via Royal Mail. Orders are usually shipped within 2 or 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized or a multiple in books we will contact you to let you know that extra shipping is required. Insurance costs are usually dictated by the shippers, should they be higher than normal, then we will contact you for your acceptance.
