A photographic biography of the Soviet/Russian writer Viktor Astafyev (also spelled Victor Astafiev), from his difficult childhood to his literary successes, interspersed with scenes of the Russian landscapes that greatly influenced his writings. (Text in Russian and English.) It was commissioned by the Krasnoyarsk Territory Museum of Regional Studies and is profusely illustrated with photos (a few in color) provided by the Astafyev family archive. CONDITION: A Fine-condition copy of this rare photo-essay - solid, square, unmarked, and uncreased, with negligible shelf-wear - now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag.
