Extremities rubbed Backstrips faded; backstrip on Vol. 2 lacks top inch or so and backstrip on Vol. 1 has a small hole. Some foxing throughout. Former owner's name in pencil on front free endpapers.Stewart had served as a missionary in the Sandwich Islands), 1823-1825. Pages 51-247 contains Stewart's account of the visit of the Vincennes to the Sandwich Islands only a few years later. The first edition (New York) was published in 1831. A London edition followed in 1832. this is the Second American edition.
