Original brown wrappers printed in blue and cream, brown cloth backstrip. 78 pages, of which 16 are in full colour and the rest being uncoloured lithographs on single-colour backgrounds. With the original order form loosely inserted. Light rubbing at the extremities, small chips at the ends of the spine. A fresh copy in excellent condition. A beautiful, 78 page chromolithographic catalogue for the American Products Company's Zanol line of cosmetics, food products, and home goods, including 16 pages in full colour. A superb example of Art Deco marketing design. Very good with some chipping and tears to the very fragile ( vellum ? ) cover papers. Fortunately, none of this extends into either the front or back illustrations. Internally very bright and clean. Vivid en pochoir Illustrations ( Highly refined stencil technique ). 20 in all, including the 2 covers, 13 individual plates, and 5 more in the folding supplement. One of the plates is missing, but seems to have been replaced by the one from the Feb. issue of the same year. 3 other four page illustrated sections with subjects ....Les Elegances de la Scene / Les Tailleurs Fantasie and Robes Legere. 2 pages of ads, and 2 pages with "description of our figures"..

The first edition appeared in 1815; this "improved" edition was published in the 1820s. Stamped "Brooklyn Public Library" on upper and lower page edges, and back fixed endpaper; performated library stamp on added endgraved title page and title page; library number stamped at lower edge of title page. A superb, unused Art Nouveau chromolithographic catalogue issued by the German pharmaceutical and medical supply firm Michael Birk, probably in the 1890s. This remarkable, 320 page catalogue catalogue contains 15 double-sided plates of elaborate chromolithographic, metallic, and embossed designs for product labels, as well as another 290 pages advertising an incredible array of other products. Very Good. 29 plates with title page, cut, hand-tipped to sheets and bound in a red morocco leather binding, from Picart's series of costume plates of Dutch and Frisian fishermen, farmers, and others engraved by Gaspard Duchange. Originally printed on 6 leaves, and usually found unbound on 12 sheets, there seems to be only one missing plate: Poissonierre d'Amsterdam (Amsterdams viswijf), the fishmonger's wife. Good copy of a suite of 24 finely hand-coloured lithographs depicting the people of the worldComplete with all 24 illustrations by Felix Fossey and Auguste Leloir, richly hand-coloured figures on sepia-tinted backgrounds (it was also issued in sepia only)The plates depict people from five continents, with 11 from Europe, three of Asia, three of Africa, three of America and three of Oceania. Frontispiece shows the dispersion of people from the Tower of Babel.
