About This Item

Fair Lawn, New Jersey: American Academy of Psychotherapy, 1966. Softcover. Near Fine. Volume II, Number I, i.e. Issue Three: Tenderness. Small quarto. 124pp. Illustrated in black and white. Ownership signature of noted psychologist, co-founder of the American Academy of Psychotherapists, and current (as of their publication) AAP Director of Publications, Henry Guze on the cover, else near fine in printed wrappers with the spine trifle sunned and a tiny scuff on the cover. According to the editorial in the premier issue, the American Academy of Psychotherapists was founded a decade prior by a group of around a dozen psychotherapists. (However, their website states it was only three: Henry Guze, Jules Barron, and Albert Ellis.) By the next year, they had grown to about 70, and famed psychotherapist Carl Rogers was named the first president. The AAP is still an active organization, and *Voices* is still in publication.
