New York: Sports Car Press, 1958 Cloth. Gilt title and spine lettering (spine lettering damaged). Good-/No Jacket Scarce. Part of Modern Sports Car Series. Illustrated with black-and-white photographs and diagrams. History of the Volkswagen and information about "fun with your Volkswagen" today (1958). First two chapters describe the early days: "Hitler Orders a Peoples Car," and "The Great Volkswagen Lottery," which discusses sales of the first VW's by pass-book savings plan and the fate of the project during the war years. Spine and upper third of front cover are sunned and show signs of damp-exposure. Narrow margin of light dampstain to upper page edges. Wide masking tape has been used to reinforce/repair front hinge and bottom edge of title page and verso; text unaffected. Otherwise clean and tight with only very light wear.
